I have just returned from 2 weeks at the Villaggio Verde. It was my second time there and all I can say is that its the best!! The staff welcome you with open arms and go out of their way for you! They are all so friendly and helpful - Ferdinando, Gennaro, Daniela and Francesco made my holiday a delight...thank you so much!! I will definately be back in the future, and would recommend the Villaggio Verde to everyone!!

Stayed there in Sep. 08...single room, just off the pool area. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, especially the married couple who manage the pool bar. It is a steep walk down to the main square, but that means the hotel is very quite at night. Many of the main hotels in Sorrento are noisy after dark because of their location. Lots of shade around the hotel grounds, which were like being in a tropical jungle. Food was very good...well worth paying for half board with Thomson's ( £7 a night, for 3 courses ...that wouldn't buy you much in Pizza Tasso !) Same price this year as in 08, despite horrid rate of the £ to the Euro. Make sure you walk down to Marina Grande...good fish restaurants right on the beach. Good tip...don't buy excursion to Pompeii...go by the little train...much cheaper and you meet the locals ! Same with Amalfi Coast...go by the local bus, for about 10% of the cost of the excursion. I am back this Sep. so see you there !

Myself and my elderly mother in law have visited this hotel 3 times now and I could not fault it. The location is perfect for those who want to have a good base away from the hussle and bustle of the main Piazza Tasso area.
It nestles amongst orange and lemon trees and later in the year, vines laden with grapes frame the pathway down to the beautifull pool area.
The staff are friendly and make you feel very much at home, I was amazed they seemed to actually remember us from the previous year.
The restaurant is charming and so are the very hard working waiters who are happy to recommend local specialties on offer on the varied menu, we chose the half board option with Thomsons which is excellent value for money. It is an excellent small and friendly family run hotel to which we will both return for many years to come. WE LOVE IT!!!!

The service was excellent - our car broke down and Teresa drove down to help us, found us a mechanic and phoned the hire car company for help, she was a real life saver! All the staff were really friendly. We stayed in one of the rooms adjoining others as oppose to the huts. The room was very clean and the perfect size. The only problems I would say is the air conditioning in our room was not particularly powerful. It is a very peaceful place to stay but every morning there was a scooter which stopped for a while outside our room at about 7am, then drove on again, and because the rooms are not at all sound proof this always interrupted our sleep. We didn't make use of the pool because it wasn't open until after breakfast when we wanted to leave and by the time we got back it was closed (closes at 6pm). The breakfast is a good variety of traditional continental foods and would have been perfect if they served fresh coffee as oppose to from a machine. The location for us was excellent - a five minute walk to the main streets and far enough away to be nice and quiet. If you do not have a problem with a bit of a hill (only the tiniest part of it is very steep) then it is the perfect location. We chose Sorrento because we wanted to visit Pompeii, Herculaneum and Capri - and served it's purpose well. Watch out for Capri - it isn't cheap! We paid 7euros for a beer and 5euros for a can of lemonade! Sorrento is quite pricey in general too - we probably would have considered going half board if we had known.
Villaggio Verde is fantastic for a peaceful stay in a nice shady location. The staff are fantastic and couldn't be more helpful!

Myself, sister and friend stayed 5th/12th June and we were greatly impressed by the kindness and attention we received from the family and staff, we were driven into town or to pick-up points for excursions on a daily basis at times to suit us as we would have found the hill too much. Our rooms were extremely clean and comfortable (although beds a little firm, but this seems to be the norm in Europe generally) The pool area was very attractive and spotless, with beautiful surroundings of orange and lemon trees and a lovely aroma of jasmine. This is not your average holiday hotel or location but we enjoyed the quiet especially at night. After only a week we felt like family and would highly recommend the Villaggio Verde to anyone!

I would like to thank Francesco and Daniela for making our stay such a successful and pleasant trip... my husband and I stayed in the hotel for two weeks and the welcome was superb, we were offered a drink and they were very informative about what to do in the area. The food was excellent and I certainly would stay there again.
